Accent was chosen from the world heat pump industry to manufacture reverse cycle pool heat pump units for this international Aquatic Centre. The three Accent Models HWP135 provide pool heating and cooling to ensure water temperature stays within FINA requirements for international competition.
The project was designed by Ove Arup Engineering Consultants and commissioned by Accent in July 1998, with the units installed by S Napa (Thailand). The Centre hosted the Asian Games in December 1998. The centre comprises a 50m * 25m Competition Pool, a 50m * 20m Training Pool and a 33m * 25m Utility Pool.
The Accent units are reverse cycle and were in cooling mode during the Asian Games. The heating capacity of the system is supplemented by gas boilers.
